My name is Gemma Fabian - Founder of Glow Face Yoga

At Glow Face Yoga, we believe in the power of natural beauty. Many of our practises have been used for thousands of years in India, China and Japan, and have proven time and time again to be helpful for both aesthetics and health. Our face yoga exercises, acupressure and massage techniques are designed to help reduce the appearance of aging, release stress and tension from your face, and alleviate pain-related conditions.

Gemma is a certified face yoga instructor, yoga and meditation teacher, and Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner. Her personalised approach to wellness incorporates face and body exercises, facial massage and acupressure, as well as addressing nutrition, mindset, negative emotions and self-love, so you can feel  the best version of yourself.

Face yoga and the M(enopause) word!

Aging, whether we like it or not, is a process that will happen to us all. At at Glow Face Yoga we look at aging as a privilege. From the age of 30 we start to lose 1-2 % of collagen in the body every year. Collagen is the protein that keeps our skin looking buoyant and connected to our facial bone structure. As we approach menopause, hormonal changes in the body also affect the production of collagen. By the time we reach 50, we have lost more than 50% of collagen in our skin cells. Fat stores under the skin and the elasticity of the facial skin can also reduce, leaving the face appearing less defined and sagging, with more noticeable frown lines and wrinkles. This might sound scary, but if we can understand why and how our body is changing, we can embrace aging and take proactive steps to decreasing signs of aging. Face Yoga won't turn back the clock and make you look 20 again, but it will help you maintain a youthful vibrant appearance as you age, often slowing down the signs of aging, achieving healthy and beautiful skin, all 100% naturally.

About Me

I've always been into exercise and fitness from a young age, gymnastics, running, teaching aerobics, and anything high impact. I believed being fit must mean I was healthy. I would push myself to my limits in both work, exercise and play, and ended up paying a severe price. In 2013, at the age of 33, I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/ME, and from that point onward my life changed dramatically. Practically becoming house bound and unable to complete even the basic of every day tasks, I first turned to traditional medicine to help - unfortunately doctors do not know how to treat CFS and I was told there was nothing they could do to help. And there began the start of my healing journey! On my quest for health I researched how the mind and body worked, the impact of our nervous system on our physical and mental states. With much trial and error I began to rebuild my health and my life. I became very interested in all alternative practises, I trained to become an Emotional Freedom Technique practitioner, and I qualified as a Yoga instructor. After experiencing another decline in my health following the Covid jabs, I was once again pretty much house bound - and this is when I found Face Yoga. It gave me a purpose, something I could do, but not only that, I began to realise it made me feel really calm and relaxed after each session. Plus, the fact, I am now in my mid forties, and I was beginning to notice changes in my skin - it had the added benefit of giving my face a real glow and shine - which people comment on a lot!  So I was hooked, and this began my passion with Face Yoga and skin.

 

I have learnt so much over my healing journey, I felt it was time to share my passion and knowledge. I understand to obtain aesthetic results, we also have to address what is happening inside our body and mind; and when we come to a state of true self acceptance. this is when the (seemingly) miracles and changes begin to occur.  I truly believe with time, dedication and patience, while making small incremental changes, we can positively impact our body and mind. It is never to late to start improving our skin, health and wellbeing and thus our quality of life and confidence.
